Have you ever stepped into the sunlight,
closed your eyes
and paused to let it in?
Been blissfully enclosed
in its warm embrace?
Completely lost in the moment.
The world is perfectly peaceful
being nowhere but here.
Soaking up the heat
straight to your heart and bones.
Like the sunlight was made for you.
Made to show you’re perfectly loveable.
You’re enough.
But while the sun is constant
the warmth is not.
Clouds roll in.
The sun sets.
Winter comes.
All that’s left
is to remember.
To hope.
To never stop looking
for the sun to reappear.
To take a step
back into the light,
losing yourself in it once more.
For your ability to stand in the sun
and your lovability
are endless.
To my kids. I hope you always hold onto God in your heart and never feel alone.
